Towing a Tahoe on a car hauler from Uhaul/Penske/Budget
I ended up towing the Mazda and had a driver for the Tahoe. The 24' Budget truck was loaded to the roof all the way back to the door then towing a Mazda 3 on the car hauler. Took about 22 hours to get from Houston, TX to Milwaukee, WI. Not sure what kind of mpg the Tahoe got, but we didn't dump...- Colby82

TPMS Sensor, Good or Bad Deal?
I have no experience with used sensors, but I wouldn't recommend them. Since you're not sure what the age of the sensor is, and you can't replace the batteries in it, you don't have any idea how long it would last. -

I have a diesel truck reserved. The tahoe is weighs about 5,000. I've decided that we're just going to have to tow the Mazda 3 and put some more gas in the Tahoe for the trip.- Colby82

What TPMS do I buy.
Do NOT buy Orange Electronics sensors. I've got six new aftermarket sensors and only 1 is working at the moment. I've already bought the OEM replacements, I just needs to have them installed. My recommendation is OEM...you can get them on Amazon pretty cheap. Take a look at these threads... -

The thought process behind all this is that the car haulers are probably under rated. Most standard issue hitches are Class III, rated up to 5000 lbs. So for liability reasons, Uhaul/Penske/Budget most likely under rate their trailer to match that 5,000 lb hitch capacity. Say they rated the...- Colby82

Resetting TPMS
Yes, once in relearn mode, it will honk to acknowledge that the pressure change has been recognized. Once it honks, move to the next wheel in the sequence. -

As updated in the other thread... UPDATE: 2 of the 3 remaining Orange Electronics sensors failed. I said eff it, ordered 3 AC Delco sensors from Amazon this week. The last AC Delco I received from Amazon worked with no issues....so I'm hoping for the same for these 3. After I get these 3... -

What is gas cap retention lanyard button called?
The OEM gas caps I've purchased came with the push clip that holds it to the body. The last one I bought was for my former '97 blazer, looked very similar to the one you have there, and came with the clip. I would check Rock Auto for pictures and part numbers. -

Interior Seats and Dash restoration
The dealer is not able to identify the 2nd color of the interior with the VIN. They provided the same information that the RPO codes indicated, which is only 1 color - Light Neutral. -

They could not be programmed...that was the problem. I had 4 new Orange Electronics sensors installed at Discount Tire, they could only get their scan tool to program 2 of them. I went to NTB and they were able to program 3 of the 4 new sensors with their scan tool. I ordered another Orange... -

Should I buy?
I'm not sure how prices vary up there vs TX. I picked up my '06 Tahoe LT a couple months ago for $10995 with 106000 on it. The crappy Michelins were showing dry rot even though they had plenty of tread left on them. I just put a set of Tahoe LTZ wheels and barely scuffed tires on it for $1000...- Colby82

Final update to this thread in the event somebody does a future search trying to source TPMS sensor replacement. I do NOT recommend Orange Electronics brand sensors. I spent more money trying to get these installed and working than I would have just paying for OEM sensors from AC...
