I had a perplexing problem with my lift gate, it would intermittently stop working. The dealership was not able to figure out why. I ended up stripping out the rear interior and checked all the wiring. The problem turned out to be a broken wire in a plug going to the module. Don’t know if that...
I've been debating getting a new Camero or keeping my Yukon and I’ve decided to keep the Yukon. I want to clean it up a bit and fix a couple of paint flaws. Maybe custom rims and tires, custom tail lights etc. Please show off any custom stuff you might have done on your Yukon.
After two years of trying to find out what is wrong with my Yukon, I am giving up it is unrepairable. Took it to a dealership yesterday and they tried to figure it out. The liftgate didn't work when I brought it in but started working for the mechanic. We go pick it up mechanic couldn't find...
Quick update.
I removed the interior panel of the liftgate and manipulated the wiring and and latch and also the safety switches at the sides of the liftgate. To date I have not had a single hiccup since my last post. I am beginning to wonder if the safety switches were causing the intermittent...
All the work done except for one latch that I had replaced was under warranty by the previous owner. I guess that is why he got rid of it. I didn't see the the stack of invoices until after I had bought the truck.
And therein lies the problem. The dealership has no more ideas to fix it. They have offered to buy back the truck but at a loss to myself of $9000. I have owned it for 15 months.
I'm located in Niagara Falls, Canada
The latch has been replaced four times and the module has been replaced once. It costs me $200 or more every time I take the truck in for a diagnostic (four times since April 2013). They determine that the latch is the problem again. This Yukon is only four years old. The last latch was put in...
Ok is this plastic strap supposed to be there on the latch or is this something someone added to release the latch manually. It's to the right of the latch.
I haven't checked that yet but what I wanted to try was pull off the panel on the liftgate and try to see what part of the opening sequence is causing the problem. It will partially unlatch then stop. Then it will not open any further and has to be pushed closed. Wait for a day or two then it...
I am done with this truck I am going to unload it the first chance I get. I can't get any answers to why the liftgate intermitently stops working. I have spent $1500 on fixes and it still stops working. So cya Yukon people I'm going to trade it for a Camero.
Liftgate Intermittently not working? UPDATE
Sometimes the liftgate on my 2010 Yukon XL stops working. I've done all the standard things to fix it (several latches, module, recalibration, shake testing the wiring ) but my dealership is throwing in the towel on my problem.
Once it is opened it...
I bought my 2010 yukon in April 2013, when I started going through old receipts from the previous owner, I discovered that the power lift gate has been an issue since new. The latch had been replaced three times and the module once. I stated having trouble about a month after I bought the truck...
After much cajoling the dealership has agreed to spend a few hours looking at the wiring. After this I am on my own. If I only used the tailgate once or twice a month I could live with it. But I need access several times a day.
