You probably didn't even need to replace the receptacle and saved another $30, probably just a corrupted SD. Some of these repairs are highway robbery when it comes to the simple stuff and like it was said above, throw a crazy price at people and see if they take it.
Thanks for the info, like the window tint, I'll roll the dice for a fix it ticket if someone decides to pull me over. Honestly, the white LEDs on the aftermarket one make me MORE noticeable for other vehicles.
I swapped them out for smoke with white LED, adds a nice touch. The driver side had a few LEDs go out after a few weeks but had a replacement sent to me. The swap is a direct plug and play, took about 10 min.
I wonder if anyone makes an upgraded module for this. The stock one, which I assume this is, just doesn't perform well in my opinion. I recently installed the Boost Auto one for the arm rest pocket and it is leagues better in terms of charge speed.
All of my previous vehicles that had plate brackets installed I replaced with color matching bumper plugs for the holes. Unless you plan to spend a lot and have body work done to fill the holes, that is your best bet. The holes are already there if they are riveted in.
