Shifter Cable
If it has manual 4X4 the “shift cable” is a steel rod. If it is electric for selecting 4X4, I guess they could mean a electric cable. More likely is the actuator on the front axle. If it is the original, it is probably the problem. They are easy to replace. I would ask a few more...- bowinkle
