Actually no. The injectors were just the wrong size. They were 36 lbs and I needed 24 lbs. The only proper size injectors immediately available were the original ones.
NEVER go to Danville Auto Service and Tire in Danville, In. !!! They were the original shop that deleted the DOD/AFM way back when I first bought the Tahoe. They were the shop I tried to get to tune this replacement engine. I have had a heart attack and can't do much for myself right now. A...
Changed engines and CEL and Stabilitrack lights keep coming on. Finally found someone to tune it Next week (Sept23rd). The tuner guy thinks it might be the cheap injectors I got from Amazon. I'll let ya know.
I need someone to tune my '07 Tahoe. I ran it for years after having it tuned so that DOD/AFM were deleted. Has a cat-back and CAI (Sounds great!) But I dropped two cylinders and assumed it had a coupla lifters collapse (Yeah I know what assuming does! ).
I found an aluminum block Gen IV...
The other thread is now closed. And I think I found someone who can tune the hoe. He has a dyno in his shop and is a friend of my son.
Thanks to everyone for their helpful comments.
Looks like I may have someone to tune it. My son has a buddy that has a dyno in his shop and does tunes. He may be persuaded to look it over for me. Here's hoping.
No, the snarky shop tuned the ecm years ago to delete the afm. It has run at least 150k since then with no problems. I just assumed that, since they were the ones that tuned the ecm the first time, that I should have them tune it now. They won't since they weren't paid to replace the engine.
We pulled the oil pan and checked the rods and cylinder walls from the bottom for wear or slop and it LOOKED great. And no the engine wasn't all that loud.
The ecm was already tuned to disable the afm about 150k ago.
Yes the lights came on as I drove it on six cylinders about 30 miles to get it to the replacement guy. And no, the snarky shop didn't clear the codes. But I'm guessing they are still coming on as the "service stabilitrac" keeps coming on and then comes on again and again and... :-(
I know nothing about cams OR tunes. (I'm OLD remember :-) ) But I'm willing to learn. And the cam is what I was told by the PO (The one who couldn't figure out why no oil pressure!)
Also the cam is listed by AMS as : GM 12689035 1-Bolt Gen IV Non-AFM delete camshaft. I believe that is just a stock camshaft and not a "Race" camshaft.
