I'm getting ready to buy some A/C parts and was trying to save all that I can. I was wondering has anyone used the Tough One Brand A/C compressors. Also has anyone used the remanufactured A/C compressors?
I found a shop that will do the labor if I bring the parts. I was told I needed the following:
Compressor
Accumulator
Orfice Tube
4 Cans of Refrigedent
They quoted me $440 for the labor. I thought that was a little high but I didn't argue. I'm sure they just enter it in the computer...
Yep you guys are right. I got a second opinion and it was $100 cheaper. The second quote was $1048. He did the quote by phone. However he did tell me that he wanted to inspect it himself because he said that the tensioner don't always have to be replaced.
I have the infamous noise under my hood from either my compressor or Belt tensioner so I took it to the shop for inspection. I was told that the compressor and the belt tensioner bearings were bad and they gave me a quote for the repairs. Now this shop is Firestone who I know are probably a...
Took mine to the shop today. I was told I needed a new compressor, Accumilator, Belt Tensioner, Oriphice Tube, pretty much a whole system and they want to do it all for $1188. Said the compressor is $467 alone. I'll get one more quote and then I gotta get it fixed. Too hot in Mississippi to...
Thanks! I was thinking I could come out cheaper buying it myself and have a shop install it but no one will give me a price by phone. They want me to bring it in so they can inspect it.
On my 2000 Chevy Tahoe NBS, I have a loud noise coming from under my hood when the A/C is on and the faster i go the louder it gets. Searched the forums here and found where others have had the same issue and it turned out to be the compressor. I was told not to run it any longer because it...
I know this is an old post but instead of me creating a new thread about my issues I decided to search and see what I could find. Looks like I hit the nail on the coffin. But The bulletin references Tahoes from 02 - 04 however mine is a 2000 and it has the exact same symptons.
It's getting...
At the time I painted the calipers I worked for a company that had the maintenance contract for the Navy Training Jets. I had friends that worked in the corrision control department and they were responsible for painting the aircraft and putting the lettering and numbers that you see on them...
Haven't done the tahoe brakes but I have painted the brakes on my avalanche. I know it's not what you're looking for but the red really have people asking me how much I paid for the high performance brakes.
I used the Duplicolor kit. Used a brush. Didn't need to tape or mask anything off.
