Looking at 90k and up Burbs for 2nd truck - what would your game plan be?

Honestly, I would look at service history on the carfax, check for fluid changes, oil changes etc. Big one is to make sure the trans fluid has been changed in whatever you get. At 90k you can change the fluid and do the cooler bypass reprogram kit to get the temps down and prolong the life of...

    Tailgate Rattle Fix

Here is a quick video showing where I put the 3m double stick tape to fix the rattle that the tailgate had, I wish I knew this sooner, but I figured it out and thankfully its nice a quiet.

Have to replace my 2015 Yukon XL Denali

17 Esky here, trans can have a little clunky at 1-2 shift when cold, once warm butter. And I like the extra acceleration of the 8 speed when giving her the coals. No issues really to speak of. Preventative trans flushes are key I think also. Mine had front struts replaced at 50k by PO, and...

On the charcoal canister, it normally gets some fuel slosh from people topping off, and gunks up the carbon in the canister, there are some videos about people online cleaning charcoal canisters and having good results doing such things. Most of the time the evap and canister issues show the...

    Lowered and towing

Ill do my best here. Your wheels and tire are the same OD as stock, then there is no change there so all good. Depending on trailer size and weight. Anything over about 5 to 7k gross trailer weight needs a weight distribution hitch on your model. The rear suspension is a bit soft for towing...

Traiding in 2021 Tahoe High Country for 2021 Escalade worth it?

Yeah once you go Massaging seats, it's hard to think about going back! My 17 has them and only thing I wish they did was stay on longer. Congrats on the upgrade. You are not the first person to complain about the seats on the Chevy.

New to 4WD, any info and advice appreciated

Im old skool in my ways of keeping 4wd working good. The main issues that I have found, solenoids and other things get sticky if sitting in one position too long. So I do things in this order. Flip to 4Lo, Drive around the block, around 1/4 mile etc. This gets the fluid, gears moving. Flip...

2007 Escalade won’t shift into drive

What side of Houston are you on? Secondly Was there a check engine light on the dash lit up? Few notes: 1. Definitely check the fluid level, make sure it registers on dipstick, if not then low fluid will make no hydraulic pressure and no movement on any vehicle. 2. I have heard that if...

Honestly, you can reprogram the clutch learning points and it will fix things up alot better. Look into clutch relearn procedures. I have found it likes a bit of commitment on the small pedal. A tune would help most likely to get the trans parameters dialed in a bit better also. Fluid was...

    Over this tranmission

Did it get a fast relearn for the clutches? You may want to bring to stealership, have them diagnose the trans. Could be as simple as a reflash needed to fix issue.

    What's the best year 2015-2020

Both the 6.2 and 5.3 are pretty equal in reliability, its the gadgets and gizmos that are a bit different on higher trim vehicles. I lean to the 5.3 and 6 speeds myself as they are cheaper to rebuild in case of failure. Bulletproofing 101 here..... a 100k mile 5.3 with 6 speed, I would do...

    What's the best year 2015-2020

If the service records were stellar, 3 to 5k oil changes, a few trans services shown, Struts and shocks already replaced, and it drove great and shifted fine, then yes.

Brought a new (to me) Burb home

Nice burb and glad your getting it dialed in.

    What's the best year 2015-2020

Check it out completely. I bought a 17 Esky, 8 speed and as long as the service records are good, check it and drive it, see how you like it, then drive a 18 to 20 with 10 speed. Personally if the 8 speed is good, the driving experience is better and it pulls harder and I believe is actually...

    Newbie from Oregon

Welcome From Texas! Best of luck on the motor swap, And you may look into a different oil if you are getting that much sludge and buildup inside the motor. I normally find that kind of build up on motors running conventional oil and lack of working PCV systems.
