Got the dual exhaust with H-pipe installed. Wow, what a difference. 2 Flowmaster Super 44's sound amazing.
Side Note: Not a lot of options for placement of the H-pipe on these short 2-doors but found a decent one.
Well, I was taking off the stock exhaust manifold off to install headers (knowing that two bolts were already broken). So the manifolds were completely out of the way. They were broken off just inside the hole, I got a center punch to mark the center, drilled out the hole with a 5/16 bit, then...
Nope, did it right where it was at. Luckily it wasn't the back studs. I don't know if I could have gotten them without trying the weld method. That would be a last resort for me.
Anyway, the body lift helped to be able to do some of the work thru the wheel-well.
Finally got the broken off exhaust studs out and re-tapped so I could get the headers put on. Couldn't believe how easily they just dropped right in. Only down side, the O2 sensor hole was on the wrong side, gonna see what I need to do about that.
Next is new plugs tonight and tomorrow the...
Interesting. It looks like a commercial model front end and the manual windows goes along with that as well. I've never seen that front end on a 99. Floor shifter is definitely preferred. Everything looks nice and clean(detailed). I wonder what the reserve is...
Oh, and can you actually...
No, the pic he shared was after the body lift was installed. The rear bumper no longer matches the lines of the body. Normally it lines up with the grooves on the side of the body.
It's a little draw back to the body lift. You have to relocate the bumpers due to them being attached to the...
Last night, Rebuilt the Throttle Body. Put in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator along with a new fitting to put a pressure gauge on, installed an injector spacer, all new gaskets and put in a throttle body spacer.
I wasn't sure it would boost the power all that much, but after getting it...
Windshield might not be sealed all the way. I have that problem with my '04 Impala. Other than that, look anywhere there is a hose or duct in the area that goes thru the firewall.
Sounds like the pump. You can always rent a pressure tester from autozone. Or if you feel like a real redneck, disconnect the fuel line connected to the filter and turn the key on hahaha.
For sure. I wish I had the time and money to put a solid front axle in my rig. Maybe some day I'll just go completely nuts and put a 2 door Tahoe body on an old K5 frame.
Anyways... If you put on the 285's with the body lift you might rub a tiny bit. My worn down 33's didn't until I got brand...
I honestly can't stand the Independent Front Suspension setup GM started using. I'll take solid axle with leaf springs over a-arm and torsion bars anyday. Not ideal for real offroading.
As for the 3" body lift... It should fit 33's with a little rubbing so you might get lucky. I hate the body...
