Sounds about right, I had to do the same thing to my instrument cluster for the gear display, however I'm not sure which joints I should even resolder as I'm novice at best with PCB soldering- 1BadDenali

Update: pin outs were okay, harness was working properly, appears that both rear seat audio controls had bad circuit boards that will intermittently go out, go figure- 1BadDenali
