    Why not replace your monroe's with a higher quality strut/ shock? Kyb, bilstein, fox etc. Monroe's are kind of bottom of the barrel as far as shocks and struts go. I wouldn't expect that great of a ride with them whether they're new or not.

    Location plays a big role on cost for a converter. So where are you located? But first what was/were the codes? How many miles are on the Tahoe and does it burn oil? If it still runs good/normal my guess is a lazy oxygen sensor.

    If you don't have emission testing you can pickup universal cats for a lot cheaper and weld them in. Or make the current ones "lighter" and get some spacers for the rear 02 sensors to keep the code away.

    What's cold? Freezing like 32 degrees or 20 below 0? Everyone's opinion is different. Not apples to apples but on my pontiac car when it's -10 degrees or colder it feels like the oil in the strut freezes and will get some good thuds hitting potholes.

    How much of a rake does it have as it sits now? Hard to tell from the picture looking at the fender gap but it looks like less then a 2" difference. If you do I'd leave a little rake. Nothing worse then a vehicle dragging a** in my opinion.
