Is this a good price for a 2012 tahoe LTZ 4x4 loaded?

Hey all,

First time Tahoe buyer. I'm looking at a 2012 Tahoe LTZ 4x4 with the sunroof, navi, rear seat dvd package, captains chair in 2nd row, auto ride, auto trunk, towing hitch package, towing coolers, 3.43 gears.

Sticker was 59900. Best they will do is 56070 for it.

Is this a good deal?

that seems like alot of money to me but thats what they are going for. i think the esky's are just a little more. if i was going to spend that much i would get an esky. got any pics of the hoe your looking at?

Can you afford it? Then yes!

I hope it has OEM 22" wheels and power steps for that price tho. If not, get them to throw them in. If not, then come see me for new OEM wheels.

No, running boards or 22" wheels. Just the sun,dvd, navi package, power gate and towing options.

Eskys are like 85k for a decent one?

price seems to be accurate. 2012 2WD LTZ are running roughly $56K. See if they'll upgrade the wheels for free or something. The CK375 are pretty nice!!!

I know the 11's are 50k. But the navi in them is SO bad looking compaired to the 12's. Its like night and day difference. I thought about buying a 11 with no navi and dvd, but couldnt find a ltz with it in 4x4. I would have done that and added aftermarket. But doing all that to make it right just seemed silly. So I got over it and said 2012.

gotcha... didnt know the 2012 redid the NAV. Finally GM listened! For what its worth, keep it all factory. Aftermarket electronics in a brand new LTZ seems pointless to me.

I have an 2011 LTZ. I was looking at the 2012's pricing on Edmunds a few weeks ago and was surprised to see that the base MSRP of the LTZ had gone up by a little over $1400. That's a big jump. I guess a lot of that is the hard drive based navigation.

For comparison to the price you were quoted I got a flat 10% off MSRP before any rebates. That's a little better then you were quoted. I have seen posts in the past that claimed even better. If you have shopped around and negotiated hard and thats the best price you can get then I wouldn't worry about it. Not everyone is going to get the same deal. To many variables.

I would go to Edmunds or KBB and find out the invoice as a reference point. Remember too that invoice includes a 3% holdback that the dealer will get back from GM after the vehicle is sold. The invoice the dealer may show you will probably be higher then what you get online because they usually reflect some marketing costs (advertising) which are somewhat bogus and should be viewed as a cost of doing business just like their electric bills.

I bought a new 2011 Suburban LT this past July with almost all of those options (It has everything the one you mention has except 'auto ride'.) and I paid $49,200.

I know its not a fair comparison, but I think you could do better if you look around...

If it doesn't have the 6.2L then no. You can get a loaded Denali for that price.

That price seems high to me. My 2011 LTZ bought last Feb was at $50k. I have the trailer package with the coolers and gear change and I have the chrome wheels. I know they put in a new nav and you get a heated steering wheel, but I can't see that costing you $6000 more. Do you know anyone that can get you the suppliers discount or any of the other discounts? I think I used USAA discount, it saved me a couple thousand dollars.

I agree with Jenna, when I was shopping I found a couple of loaded Denali's that I could get for $56k.

Without a doubt, loaded denali msrp is maybe 5k more max and you get the awseome power of the 6.2

Last year I bought my 2010 Denali AWD with the entertainment, nav, premium paint, sunroof, etc. for approx $56,600 out the door (including tax and license).

I think the sticker was maybe $62k or so not including tax/license.

I waited them out and they eventually agreed to my offer.

These vehicles are not worth $60k. I personally think the price is high especially if you have the GM card. Price of gas is bad so these vehicles do not sell well when it is bad. I paid $55k for my 09 XL Denali AWD back in 2009. It is worth around $38k trade in now according to Edmunds.

When I went looking at the Esky in 2009 it was a min of $75k. That was before they cut the base package to lower the price.

Just go to Edmunds and build the Tahoe to find out true invoice price. You should be able to get it close to true invoice. If they can make a couple hundred dollars over invoice and get the holdback that should keep them happy. I paid about 200 over true invoice for my 2011 LT

Thanks for the info guys! I want the tahoe for the 4x4. Plus the Denali front end doesn't do it for us. We test drive one and the 6.2 did feel and sound much better. But this is for a soccer mom and trips to the desert, lake and mountain so having 4x4 was worth more to us.

Anyways I got it for 55k out the door. If I paid to much oh we'll I'm over it now. Wife is super happy and I'm still getting "special" treatment from her for getting her what she wanted. Happy wife means happy life!
