Went into the deep south this week. 2019 Tahoe, 5.3, 4x4, 3.08 gear. Cruising mostly at some over speed limits. Mid grade BP gas. This old machine still delivers:

Better than twice my mileage. But, I think that I may have more smiles per gallon.That's great! Car and Driver tested our 6.2 Suburban 4x4 @ 75 mph and got 23 mpg. We're planning a Route 66 trip next year and looking to match that. Our best 50 miles average is 24.5 and according to Fuelio we have a lifetime of 20.4.

It's a 6l80. Got this in May of 2019 so it's over six years old. It's mostly our travel machine, take out the back seats, load it up and go. The back is not to far from being an enclosed pickup truck. And those seats weigh a ton too.Which transmission: 6L80? 8L90? 10L80?
