Howdy ok well my 05 Tahoe,I gave away to my dad fr his bday ,so now my mechanic buddy says he just got an 04 one owner suburban from his friend it's dark blue ,leather seats n bout 145k miles he didnt shoot me a price and I'd hate to lowball him ,what should I come in at ,?

Tell him to give you a price. Making someone submit an offer is BS. Especially in your situation because you don't want to offend the guy

So "Suburban" and "gets good gas mialiage" are not two things that go together. Whichever engine the Suburban is running, it still has to push 1,000 to 1,500 pounds more down the road than a Tahoe. So expect poor, and get excited if it is higher than that. I mean, YMMV.

That said, unless I start to starve, I'll continue to feed my Suburban which has WORSE than poor MPG.

Back in 06 I drove one like it and it got good economy unless my ideas of good is far off I'd drive 70 miles to near towns on a 1/4 of a tank if I was reading gauge correctly ,so round trip loaded then unloaded bout half tank or less depending on cruise control
