What's Under the Center Console?

I'm trying to run an iPod wire from my new radio up into the center console. I'll have to drill a hole in the console in order to get the end of the wire in there (I want to keep the iPod stored in the center console). My question is, does anyone know what's underneath the center console? Is it safe to drill a hole down there? Should I do it on the side instead? If anyone has any help/suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated!

Pull out the center cupholder area (held on by clips) and look around.

drill the side, you might pinch your wires if you drill the bottom. JMO

Does anyone have instructions to remove the center console? I want to run some wires under there up to the center stack. I have a 2010 escalade, but im pretty sure our interiors look 90% the same.

look for the stealth kit for your car, the one that puts a 10" up front.

it should have instructions on removing it...

Actually, the stock Bose sub is under the center console. .......... recently removed mine in lieu of a couple of amps in its place.
