Hello All,

I am hoping y'all can help me with a strange AC issue as I am dying in this Houston heat.

My 04 Yukon Denali AC stopped working and I suspected it was the compressor and when I put 12 volts on that compressor it will not engage. I bought an AC kit and replaced the compressor, orifice tube, dryer / accumulator and the rear evaporation valve and replaced them all. I pulled a vacuum to 30 mm Hg and seems to hold vacuum for at least an hour.

So here is where it gets odd I put in 3 12 oz cans of R134 and I can get it to 35 on the low side and 180 on the high side and the rear gets a bit cool but the front is still hot. When I try to put in more R134 then it would hit 100 on the low side but the high side stays the same.

I am not sure if there is a blockage or something. I am very confused where to troubleshoot next.

Thanks All.

Did you flush your a/c lines/components before installing the new parts?

Did you split up the oil and put it in different locations?

You should also make sure your actuators are working. Does the back blow cold?
