Will a tranny from a 96 is the same as a 98?

Should be, both 4L60E.

If you are thinking of a tranny swap, why not drop in a 4L80E?

Yes on your question. But my 2cents, go with the 4L80E. You just have to relocate or modify your trany crosmember, and shorten your drive shaft or get a new one.

Its not for me its for my Uncle. He has a 2dr. My friend has a 96 that was totaled out. The buy back on the truck is cheap. I'm goign to take his Flowmaster Dual Exhaust and cut out the MUFFS b/c the suck and put different ones in as well as his led tail lights. My Uncle tranny is slipping so were just going to swap them in.

Anybody needy anything? Its black with grey cloth interior. Just go hit in fron NO damage to any MECHANICAL parts not even the rad or ac condensor!

the wrecked one a 2 door or 4-door? i need a couple interior panels that are 2-door specific. (of course)
