My '04 will primarily be my tow vehicle for our travel trailer. As a result a brake controller is a requirement.

In the glove box there is a harness with a plastic block connector on one end and bare wires on the other. My truck does have the HD towing package, so am I right in thinking that there should be a plug that corresponds to the plastic block on the harness? When I look below the dash on the left side of the floor, there is a large black plastic cover, and I think the socket for the wiring harness may be underneath this plastic cover.

Here is my finger pointing at the cover.

Can I just pull this off, or does it have to be unclipped or unscrewed.

First buy the short jumper cable. Tekonsha has one that works great. Unscrew the center nut. The cable will plug into the spot in the top row, 2nd from the left. Plug and play.
