Is retapping and installing a helicoil not an option?

I suppose it could be.
I am not sure if I'm lazy or reluctant out of fear of not getting the manifold off and reinstalled without air leaks. The manifolds are secured to the head in an awkward manner that is hard to tighten the studs that hold them together. See the stud picture. The manifold goes on the left side of the stud and the collar projection presses against the manifold so there is nothing to put a wrench on to tighten it up. Double nuts used on the right side just tend to back the studs out of the head when trying to remove them.
All more than you wanted to read.
It would not be the first choice of solutions. I wouldn't attempt that in place because of the potential of getting debris in the intake tract.

I think this (#59235) is what @gooffeyguy mentioned, not threadlocker.

Thanks, I got that.
The other recommendation was for a thread locker but pointed up to this sealer so that's why I noted it.
Do you know if this sealer cures hard? Is anerobic?
Maybe a test is in order.

The two things are not the same.
One is sealant and the other locker.

Forgive me. I too quickly posted the first one I could find without looking closely at it.
