Switching from 2WD to Auto or 4WD -Supposed to get a message?

Hello folks,
My 2010 Tahoe has the trailer package and the transfer case switch dial to the left of the steering wheel beside the light control dial.
I have seen a few threads that mention a warning or DIC notice indicating that you have switched from 2WD to AUTO or 4WD High, but mine does not do this. Should it provide a dashboard notice? The dial indicator always moves from 2WD to 4WD, but I do not receive any dashboard or DIC notice.

Only thing you'll see is the selector light blinking orange for about 5 seconds when you turn it to either 4wd or 2wd. No dash indicators.

My 07 Sub has a dash light, but it doesn't come on. I did a 'light test' with a GM Scan Tool and the dash light exists. It only lights up with the light test, never with the 4WD knob...
