1998 Tahoe 2 door 179K
Starter is 1 year old, battery is 2 years old.
Have to crank repeatedly (maybe 20 times) first thing in the morning or if it's been sitting a while.
Does it every day.
Temperature doesn't seem to matter.
Any suggestions?

last full tune up fuel filter included? any codes stored for cel? hows it run once you get it running? you could have a bunch of problems from small stupid issues up to a big issue. without further information id just start listing off everything that could cause that. also have to checked or tested anything yet we might be able to rule out. it could be something as simple as a fuel/spark issue to bad compression in the cylinders.
first up as far as the first things which would be the easiest if you haven't done a tune up in a while get that done along with the fuel filter. get a can of starting fluid or carb injector cleaner if you dont have one once you get the engine running spray aroung the intake. if you hit a spot and the rpms jump you have a vacuum leak. even if your cel isnt on have it checked anyway incase the bulb is burned out if there are any codes let us know what they are.

I'm thinking fuel pressure problem too. Probably check valve gone bad in the pump and you're having to build pressure in the system. Try turning the key to the on position for 3 seconds several times then go to start, if it fires up quicker you have a fuel problem.

Codes: Lean Bank 1 and 2 (had these codes for 50K miles), Throttle body position sensor
Changed fuel filter. New Starter, new battery,
Had trouble with the fuel pump (replaced four times) Turns over but won't start. Doesn't seem weak, just doesn't start.

Update: Tried turning the key to ON position several times before starting. Didn't make any difference. Had trouble starting this morning. Put emergency brake on and it started right up. E-brake turns off headlights. Replaced fuel pump several times. What could be the connection?
