Those mods are nice. Makes me want to dive into something like that. How difficult was that? I'm a rookie at this, so hopefully it's not to difficult. It would definitely look nice on my Tahoe.

Plastidipped all 4 door courtesy lights and all the dome lights for a smoked illusion without smoking the actual lens. Since leds are directional the light output is not changed.

Dipped the blocking plates for the map lights as well. Most people take these out and toss them.

Make sure you clean off the metal contacts so you get a connection.

The dome lights will blend in better once I redo the headliner in a darker fabric.

My last truck I actually used rid dye and dyed them in boiling water, was a fun project and they came out nice but this is quicker and doesn't smell up the kitchen.... or ruin the wifes pan lol.

Wedge design led so there's no need to drill the stock opening in the housing like for most led bulbs.

Again just as bright with leds and output is still great.

The lens and housings are plastic welded together so taking them apart takes time and the edges like to crack a little, that's why I painted the border. Used jb weld to seal them back up and they're stronger than they were from the factory.

When I did the center console light I had everything torn apart and did a light for the rear cup holders cause I got tired of showing people where they were lol. Now I just say look at the blue light by your feet. Hooked up to the dash circuit so it dims and auto in off with the rest of the dash light's. Used a housing that holds a 194 bulb for easy replacement.

One of those things gm should've thought of in their design. Most automakers have lighted cup holders now.

Applied the same exact concept to the cubby (don't judge me I was bored and recently laid off work lol)
Added USB and aux directly wired to the head unit.

I need to get a new console like your to match my '05 dash trim. That top cubby would be perfect to attach the remote head for my mobile radio, and it would get it up high enough to read the display...

Yea I only use it to put the 3 screws when I mess with my stereo. Besides that it's always empty, I have nothing that fits in there :nono:
