Thanks, I'm more interested in the GVWR because that determine how much weight I can add too the truck and still be safe. 6500 vs 6900 give me a little more room for passengers, cargo, and trailer weight on the hitch.
that is why I would go weigh it, also go by the RPO code. or swing buy any dealer service department and ask them to print out your build sheet all they need is the vin number
if you want it to pull easier/nicer, get smaller tires with high weight rating

I don't think the GCWR matters what towing or cooling options it has. On my 2012 Denali, it only depends on if it's 2wd or AWD, because of the added weight of the front driveline. Some have the K5L RPO and some don't, mine doesn't.
