Rear ABS system

So I've researched this all over the place. What's with the rear ABS system on the gmt400 [90s] tahoes? I see no sensors or tone wheels for sensors on the rear diffs like the front hub bearings house. Does the ABS operate based on the front wheel sensors alone and if activated unlock all 4 wheels? That's the only setup that makes sense in my mind. And the brake hydraulics would have to be setup to bias the front wheels to prevent lockup of rear wheels preferentially leading to sideskid....

Any experience or insight appreciated

I believe that is uses the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission to monitor the rear wheels.
