Passenger rear door wont open from inside

Wasn't sure which thread to post this. I have 2009 Yukon XL SLT 1500 and passenger rear door won't open from inside. Lock works just fine. Have checked and double checked child safety setting. Opens from exterior just fine.

Anything else I am missing? Any other suggestions before cracking into door panel?

Broken clip on the inside for the rod, bent/broken rod or it just came I clipped. Take off the interior panel and look around.
