Been chasing an oil leak for a few years that I thought my previous mechanic took care of. Noticed a good amount of oil drips at my last oil change. Got back under today after changing spark plugs/wires & noticed it seems to be coming from the oil
Cooler plate/gasket. Plan to start there. Also noticed oil on the thread of one spark plug. Any advice/thoughts on this?

The one on the plug is probably the valve cover. Which side of the engine is that one on?

That's drivers side closest to the firewall. How difficult of a repair is that?
Pretty easy if it’s the vc, just remove the coil pack and there’s (4) 8 mm nuts that hold the vc on. It uses a rubber o-ring for a gasket. That location is also directly below the oil pressure sensor which is also known to leak however that usually runs down the backside of the engine and can be confused with a rear main seal leak. That one is a bit harder, you have to do it by feel unless you pull the intake manifold. I would try the valve cover gasket first. Also, there may be an updated driver side valve cover for your engine to help with oil consumption due to the pcv system. I’m not sure of the part number but there here have that info.

Can anyone help me properly identify the correct parts/seals to get this sealed up? The usual sites i.e rockauto, GM parts, etc are not very clear or claim the parts don’t fit a 2012 GMC Denali XL 6.2L. I live in the keys so can’t risk taking it apart without having the replacements on hand. Thanks in advance!
