I was thinking the other night that if I could build a LS1 And drop it in for the 5.3 Vortec could I do this?

Im thinking that I can but maybe I need different mounts? What about the computer and wiring harness as well?

it's an easy swap. Pull intake, accessories, etc...and just put in LS1 longblock...drop your intake back on,etc and have computer tuned...done.

aren't the 5.3 a version of ls motors already. I did some looking at lstruck forums and all you really need to do is a intake swap. Am I thinking wrong?/

To be honest is there any reason you are thinking of the LS1??? You can mod the 5.3 just the same and well you already have it. I am pulling the motor from my 02 Z28 during the winter, and since it only have 53k on it, I was gonna throw it into the Hoe I am lookin to buy.

Its an Idea but to be honest prob not worth the investment for a few extra cubes :imo:. If you wanna go for an engine swap go for the 6.0L. You can find em much easier and cheaper then an LS1. Your bassicly gonna trade 75lbs more but get 31 more cubes over an LS1 with an LQ4 or LQ9. Just something to keep in the back of your mind
