Liftgate motor gears rattle

My 07 Yukon has a power liftgate. I have been noticing a rattle coming from behind my rear cargo panel on the driver's side. I removed the panel today and found the rattle coming from the gears for the liftgate motor. They have a very small amount of play allowing them to slide in and out. The rattle is caused by the gears tapping each other on bumpy roads. Does anyone know what can be done to stop the noise? Thanks,
