im sitting here in my truck with wires every where trying to figure out

where my illumination lead wire is . . . im hooking up my iDA-X100 h u

illumination wire so it dims when my lights come on in my 96 chevy

tahoe . . . can anyone help me out . . . i found the manual to the head

unit on line but it don't tell me where my wire is on my truck just what

the wire on the stereo needs to bee hooked up to . . .

i was always told not to hook up the illum wire, something about killing the battery or sometihng, on every car i've ever done i've not once hooked up the orange wire

so sorry that this doesnt answer your question, lol, but i'm just saying what i've done

well its kool but i gota duramax battery and as much as i forget to turn my lights

off and as much as i play with my system while its not runin im sure it would be

fine . . . thanks tho . . . my illum wire on h u is blue . . . what orange wire are

you tlkn bout

Do you have a test light? If so, start probing wires and rolling the dimmer switch up and down until you find the one the dims the test light.

naw i don't have a tst light but if i was to hook it to that wire wouldn't

that only dim my stereo when i dim my gauge lights instead of diming

when i turn my lights on . . . i guess if i had a tst light tho i could hold

it on each one while turning my lights on until the tester lit up . . . right ?
