Hi everyone, hoping you can help me here.

Vehicle: 2005 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L flex fuel. 145,000 miles. All original.

Issue: extended crank on start up, sometimes doesn't start after first crank or starts very slowly/sluggishly. Once running, the vehicle is 100% at both idle and at speed.

Information: I used a fuel pressure gauge to find the following: at key on, pressure spikes to 58, then drops down under 15 in less than 3 seconds. Once running, indicated pressure is approximately 60 PSI.

It appears my fuel pressure regulator is not keeping the pressure in the fuel lines after the pump has primed. I've read that my fuel pump assembly has the FPR integrated, which means it is an all or nothing replacement.

Can anyone confirm that the most likely culprit here is my fuel pump assembly?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
