the small little pocket that would be under there? The door for it was gone so we worked around it

ahh thats why.. in the pictures on page one it showed the door/pocket and wasnt sure why you got rid of it. did an upholstery company fill it in with foam?

The pictures at the start of the thread are of a console that is finished. A liitle further in the post there are pictures of the console that I am building. It is missing the center armrest portion of the lid. My upholstery guy made a base and covered with foam and leather. I thought it was too plain looking so I had him sow in a seam to break it up. The grey leather turned out to be a perfect match. I am done cleaning and sanding all the pieces. The only thing left is paint and assembly. Its been three days of rain and I do not like to paint anything when the humidity is high.

You have to find them used. They come up on Craigs list and Ebay. Anywhere from $150 to $350 used. 99-00 Denali/Escalade. You need to search for them daily as they get bought very quickly. Dealer, GM parts etc, prices are insane upwards of $1500, because of all the electronics inside. For use in OBS trucks they are usually gutted, but they are not sold that way.

What grit of sand paper did you use to sand the console down?

You have two paints posted in the pic...maybe i have mis-read it. Did you paint with SEM or duplicolor?
