Drl problem

I have an 02 tahoe. When i purchased the vehicle the drls didn't come on. I replaced the bulbs and the sockets looked fried.

Does anyone know what may have caused this?
How can i fix it?

Im special. The drl's are working. I didnt think to put the truck in gear. Now time to do some lighting mods

I changed the drl sockets on my 02 tahoe. And replaced the bulbs at the same time with regular bulbs. Mabye a week later they started to melt. So after a little research I found out that it's the bulbs that melt the sockets. So I replaced them with leds. Haven't had a problem since.
