Today a little short fiber glass putty. Next some seam sealer and paint.

I also have a picture of what the Denali trim covers

Primer, light sanding, white base then seam sealer. Seam sealer didn’t go as well as I’d liked... I’ve also had problems caulking in the past

Having never applied seam sealer before, but when using silicone caulk if you spit on your finger before smoothing it, I know the caulk won't stick to your finger. Water won't work, but spit does.

Almost done. I rushed the paint a bit so there is an area I have to fix. Looks like it’s time to put it back together. Some polishing blending and a peeled area to fix 2667759287264ad18b5427c199610a8f.jpg

How do I remove this plastic piece to paint under it?

I have never removed one but I’d bet it’s held with high bond tape so there’s no holes through the metal which would create a place for rust to start since that’s a wet location.

I’m marking this off as finished even though I may come back and redo the paint just a bit. It’s a 15 year old truck and the repair looks good from 6 feet
