I think it was designed that way to prevent that corner of the door from digging into the door seal. They did that on the obs too.

my tahoe does that too, but then i was drunk with the drivers door open and back it into a tree and ripped it off, insurance thought it was a hit and run lol and now its leveled and looks nice, my passanger side tho looks like it was leveled by a **** eyed person with a protractor.
