Adding a second battery.

Ok so I want to add a second battery to our Yukon.
It has the tray already there.

I already have the battery. I just bout a new battery that is the same brand and model as the battery that is in there right now.

I just need to know how to hook it up?

Do I just run a ground and then a positive to the alternator?

Do I need to fuse it?

Should I upgrade the factory alternator lead?

What about the stock ground?


I am planing to add several lights to this thing. As well as a connection so I can power a ***** that will be mounted to my trailer.
I will also be adding 2 amps to the thing later one as well.

You can buy the factory secondary battery cables that are used on the PPV tahoes. They are part number 25876895 and 25825642.
