A/c pulley popping noise

This is really just to try to help someone else save some time troubleshooting .a while back I had a popping noise coming from under the Hood only when the a/c was on and only at higher rpm's I changed the tension pulley first and then the belt then finally broke down and changed out the a/c compressor and that fixed the problem.

At least you tried the cheaper fixes first. Besides the popping noises, did you feel extra drag on the engine or notice less efficient cooling etc?

Not really but I didn't push it when I would hear the pulley start to slap I would turn the a/c off
