By any chance does it turn off when you open your door and the interior lights come on with the key out?

Alright, since you mentioned a recent wiring job I was thinking they maybe hooked it up to a power retention wire that your alarm might have had.

maybe im probably gonna mess with some of the wires and see if i come up with anything
