Finally I did the tuning to my Denali!
Mods: Vararam Tri Power Ram Air Intake, Custom Dyno tune

Its not been easy because of the economy, but I managed to do before and after dyno's like I promised.
The dyno was a Dynojet AWD
Peak awhp could had been better but Intake Temp was @ 115 F and very humid still,

Here are the results:

This is in STD

Stock: 295.39 awhp 330.25 awtq
Intake: 318.81 awhp 348.43 awtq
intake + custom tuning: 328.53 awhp 355.92 awtq

Peak gains
INTAKE GAINS: 23.42 awhp and 18.18 awtq
TUNING GAINS: 9.72 awhp and 7.49 awtq
COMBINED: 33.14 awhp and 25.67 awtq

now this is where it gets radical:

In the hp curve in some cases I gained 60 awhp and more tha 100 awtq combined (intake & tune). With Tuning only it gained more than 20 awhp in some parts of the graph and 30+ awtq
This is simply awesome.
We noticed that the truck didn't loose hp all the way to 6400 rpms, so the truck now changes gears @ 6250 rpms.

I highly recommend the VARARAM intake and a custom tuning!
Hope you find this usefull.

Interesting.

What gear did you use? 4th or 5th? They're 1.15 and .85 respectively...

Interesting......The peak numbers are impressive for the minimal modifications.

Do you keep track of your average fuel mileage? I'll be interested to see how this affects daily driving and fuel economy. Below 4000rpm it looks like the gains are <20hp/20lb-ft....

Although definite peak improvements can be achieved, it drives me nuts to hear how people think they can get ~15% better fuel mileage just from a CAI and catback exhaust. That's just not realistic....

Didnt expect such gains from the intake. How do you clean the filter, and how sturdy are the tubes that connect

Thanks for doing the pre and post dyno. It seems like intake mods for the 6.2L yeild good results, gains across the rev band not just peak.

Now I am curious about the 5.3L; the gains will not be as large but wonder what the curves would look like.

I'm a bit skeptical of the gains detailed just from the intake mod

I have seen similar with mine on a 5.3 but I got more from the tune and the volant cold air is about the same. plus seeing 4+ mph with my tune. really went after timing and dod settings on mine
