hey guys, new to the forum and have a question for whoever can answer it...
i have a 03 tahoe and just had some work done on it (new fuel pump)
it wouldnt start for some reason. i had a mechanic look at it and he said there was air in the gas line. he went under the hood, messed with the throttle a few times and it started up.
drove it for 10 minutes and parked. then it took almost 5 minutes to get it started again....
on the way home last night it took forever getting it started but at least the service engine soon light popped up. so now i know it has a code...
personally l think its the spark plugs or the clogged injectors b/c the starter isnt ticking when i try to start it.
i did put a synthetic fuel injector cleaner in it yesterday with about 15 gallons of gas...
truck drove fine but the engine doesnt react to the throttle position well... thats why i think its a bad or failed plug somewhere... though if 1 is bad i'll change them all.
is there a way to get the code with out having to go to autozone? b/c im not sure if the truck will fire back up if i turn it off at autozone...
with my old car i was able to read the codes by a few twist if the key and the code would pop up where the mileage is
i know a few good mobile mechanics that will come to my house and change the spark plugs for me, if thats the issue
