When I left for work today, the display on my dash showed that the Stablitrak & ABS needs to be serviced. I checked with my scanner the error codes and all I saw was one about the "Left Rear Wheel Sensor".

My question is would the wheel sensor if bad cause both the Stablitrak and ABS to display these service messages?

BUMP!

Wondering if anyone knows if this wheel sensor would cause BOTH these service messages?

Would this be better posted in the drivetrain section?

Yes. Pop the rod off and move the lever back and fourth with your hand. Spray some wd40 if you have. Hook back up see if it goes away.

Thanks Joe for the response!

I was planning on seeing if that will be the issue, but just wanted to make sure that this sensor would cause an issue with both those systems, seems like it would but you never know....

Going to do it on Saturday.....

OK, so I got a chance today to look at this. Took the rod off the left rear control arm sensor, move it up and down a few time, put it back on and I was able to ABS error, not coming back on.

The service Stablitrak message is still showing and the ABS light is on.

No codes!

Not sure where to start looking at this point?

Any help or guidance on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

Just had mine at the dealer for the same thing.
They replaced the (brake sensor) under the dash by the pedal.
All is better now. Part was 25.00 bucks and install 2 bills......

Brake sensor? Have to look under the dash to see what's there?

Is it actually activated by the pedal, kinda like the brake light switch?

Yes that is what it sounded like when the tech described it to me.
I was going to have them fix it so I did not ask any more questions.
He also said it was due to I tow a boat alot and brake hard...Not sure if there is much truth to that but who knows.

Well, I don't do any towing with my vehicle, I did inadvertently turn the towing on for a minute, but shut it off immediately, wonder if that had anything to do with it?
