...Now, if you do swap transmissions, you need to validate that the TEHCM part number that's in the new trans matches the one on the TEHCM in your existing trans (another reason to drop the pan). Otherwise, you'll have to reprogram the replacement transmission's TEHCM (reprogramming =/= fast adapt relearn).

If I remember correctly from another thread Esky 07 & 08 6L80 swap poss and poss 09. 10-14 only work with 10-14.

It should work if you swap the valve body and TEHCM but you need to use the speed sensor assembly from the 07. You’re loosing all the updated parts the 12 has compared to the 07 but I guess you don’t really care.

Something to do with L92 & L9H being compatible with each other.
Whereas the L94 having Engine Half @$$ enabled, would have different operating systems.

1GYS4DEF7BR400471 is a random VIN for a '12 'sclade. Plug that VIN into
then press 'Get Cal ID'
on the following page, scroll to find TCM, select it, then hit 'Next', then select 'Normal' and hit 'Next' again
On the following page, click 'Complete History'.

When I do the above for this '07 Escalade VIN 1GYFK63867R126467,
I get 2 different operating systems for the TCM (every TEHCM is a TCM).

Hopefully 91RS is right and I'm wrong - just be prepared, is all ...

The calibrations change almost yearly. You HAVE to use the correct TEHCM and valve body for your year but the rest of the transmission is the “same.” The 07 transmission will have the old design pump cover and 1-2-3-4 drum but as long as they’re matched, I think it’ll work.

I’m not an expert but since that Nick Transmissions guy blocked me, I think, since his poop doesn’t stink, I did the research on my own. The hard parts are the same for the most part but some things were updated along th way like the pump cover, 1-2-3-4 drum, and one of the planetaries but it is all backwards compatible. The speed sensor reads that planetary so that’s why you need to use the 07 speed sensor assy.

I bought a core transmission that was correct for my 2013 and did a stock rebuild on it and then used my original 2013 transmission and rebuilt it with a Circle D Transmissions Stage 2.5 kit but bought new 08 valve bodies and TEHCM, used the 2013 speed sensor, and it works great.

Just tried to use a random 2012 Escalade VIN at the website I just showed.
The website seems to be down for the time being.

Point is, you use your VIN to find out about the program segments of your Escalade,
then use the other VIN to see if the TEHCM would need to be reprogrammed or not.
Again, me pessimist, I assume yes ...
If the website recovers you can set pessimism and optimism aside, and get an answer.
I'm not using another TEHCM. I'm using the one that has always been installed. It's just going into a different transmission

So I just need to take that module that plugs into the green connector from the 07 and install it on the 2012 valve body?

No. You need to use the entire 2012 valve body but you need to use the 2007 speed sensor assembly that is attached to the valve body.

Which is the speed sensor? The off white piece that plugs into the green housing, or the one on the other side?

I’m not sure I remember there being a green housing? Do you have a picture?
