Not Seeing Any Substantial Value To Using Tow/Haul Mode

Tow/Haul mode will hold lower gears longer for better accelaration and will downshift automatically to aid in braking. Once on the highway, I've never towed faster than 65MPH and the truck stayed in 5th...it never engaged 6th gear. This prevented hunting between 5th and 6th gears as you go...

    Driveline Vibration

It did it with the OE Shocks, and continues to do it with the Bilsteins that are in it now. Light acceleration will not cause the vibration. You can increase speed from 60 to 70 in 6th gear without issue...give it more gas, and as you repeat the increase in speed in 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd it...

Just completed 3400 road trip...2016 Yukon.

Never thought of posting about a road trip, but I just did something similar...with VERY similar results! Took the Suburban with the family out to Butler, TN. Drove a total of 2,372 miles, burned 130.7 gallons for an average of 18.1MPG. Now, I was carrying 8 people plus about 400lbs of gear...

    Driveline Vibration

So I've had my '15 Suburban LT now for almost a year...purchased CPO with 36K miles and I currently have 59K on the clock. It has an extended warranty so what I'm about to explain should be covered, but wanted to see if anyone else is having this issue as it doesn't seem to fit in with the...

    Anyone else install new shocks?

Doubt that they'd work for lowering...The front shock has multiple positions on it that allows you to raise the front close to 2". The rear shocks are typically longer to accomodate a slight lift as well.

    Anyone else install new shocks?

So, after I went back to storage to get more tools I finished the job. The top bolt on the rear requires a socket and extension with a ratchet on the inside and then I used my cordless impact on the outside (wheel side). Once I figured out how to access the top bolt, installation was a breeze...

    Anyone else install new shocks?

I just installed Bilstein 5100s on the front of my Suburban LT and then went to do the "easy end" only to find out that the top bolt is a little difficult to get to. It was dark and i was tired after doing the front shocks and front brakes and said screw it...I'll do the rear another day...

    MPG with the Trailering Package?

Are you in tow/haul mode? Sounds like the transmission staying in 6th gear for economy...if all else fails, use manual mode and hold the gears yourself.

    Ride transformed

If tires are wearing unevenly (you claim inside edge wear) then you likely have an alignment issue. If it was inner and outer edge wear, it'd likely be under-inflation.

    Updates for MyLink???

I was wondering if there are any software updates for the entertainment systems for the 2015 Suburban. I drove a 2016 the other day and noticed various differences between the 2. One of the differences that I noticed (which I find annoying) is that on my '15 it is a pain in the ass to change...

    2015 tahoe stock shocks replacments?

The Tahoe/Suburban is raked...ass up in the air compared to the front. The 5100 series has digressive valving which provides a slightly better ride and also offers ride height adjustability in the front from 0.75" higher than OEM up to 2" higher than OEM. I had these on my 2013 F-150 and in...

What did you do to your 2015-2020 K2XX Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You used the 5100 Bilsteins to raise the front? How did the ride change from stock? Nice truck!

    Diablo Works...Smoked a new F-150...

As a former EcoBoost owner, racing from a stop without engine braking to build boost is useless. Even when Car and Driver compared the big 3 pickups they realized that 0-60 was affected by almost 2 seconds if you simply stomped on the gas vs engine braking to build a little boost before...

24-238281 24-253246 These are the Bilstein HD part numbers. 24-253253 24-253260 These are the Bilstein 5100 part numbers. The 5100 allow you to lift the front and should have better valving than the HD. I pulled the part numbers from Bilsteins website.

    3.08 vs 3.42

I'm new to the forum...purchased a CPO '15 Suburban LT on 3/6/16...got in a wreck on 3/29/16 when an idiot ran a red light. Driver's rear tire took the direct hit and the rear end needs replacing. Body shop/insurance found a part number for an entire rear end assembly from Chevrolet, ordered...
