    Paint correction on new Yukon?

Is the $1200 for paint correction just for cleaning up the paint? That sounds pretty high for a brand new vehicle or does that also include a coating of some sort? Have you had the vehicle inspected by the shop you received the quote from or is that a price they gave you sight unseen? While...

    Let's talk foam cannons

Yeah you will notice a thicker foam from the foam lance. I typically use 4-5 oz. of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash when I am using my foam lance, however for normal washes you only need to use 2-3 oz. I use a stronger ratio because I want to fully clean and strip the surface of any sealants or...

    Let's talk foam cannons

You do have options if you are not using your pressure washer all the time. You have foam gun, which is just used with your regular garden hose and not your pressure washer. You then have a foam lance, which is used with your pressure washer. You will typically get the best foam from a lance...

Detailed my New 2011 Black Tahoe

A little trick to try next time your working on a black vehicle and you finished polishing it. Shine your LED flashlight on it, close one eye and cover up the direct reflection of the light in the paint. You will be shocked that in most cases there is marring even when you really haven't...

Detailed my New 2011 Black Tahoe

I have noticed that I get marring from reflect on both GM and BMW blacks. Honestly it is probably because I am way more fussy then I need to be, as next to no one would ever notice the marring under normal conditions. However any marring will take away from the gloss and depth of the finish...

Detailed my New 2011 Black Tahoe

Nice work Chris! I have noticed that Reflect just does not finish down nicely on the black on these vehicles. Under normal lighting it looks good but when being picky and using LED lights it still leaves a good amount of micro marring on the GM black paint on these. You should give Optimum...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yeah it is certainly a give & take situation. But she did tell me I can get my e92 M3 next year if I want, so I will let her get the SUV she wants. Plus I have been wanting a Sierra Denali for a long time and she kept telling me no because we had the Tahoe and then the Suburban. Now she won't...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Well the wife has talked me into selling the suburban to get her an Acadia Denali. I have been wanting to cut back from 4 cars sitting around, and she would have been the one to DD the Z71 as I drive to much for work. She was not having that plan and said we need to get something smaller if...

Keep your WeatherTech's or Husky Mats Clean

Jonah52 if your mats are really bad and have stains in them that can't be cleaned, you can use a product like Solution Finish on them (if they are black). This product is tinted and is great for restoring a nice dark finish to them. My mats did not have any heavy stains on them, however if I...

Keep your WeatherTech's or Husky Mats Clean

The product works pretty good. Depending on how dirty your mats are you may need to hit it two times. The mats in ours were pretty dirty and while most of them cleaned with one application I did have to use 2 on the one mat.

Keep your WeatherTech's or Husky Mats Clean

Do you have WeatherTech, Husky or another brand of liners in your SUV and are looking for a product geared towards cleaning and protecting them? Chemical Guys recently released a product call Mat Renew Floor Mat Cleaner & Protectant.. It is quite simple to use and will leave you with a natural...

Looks good, but you need to show that paint some love. That black paint is a mess :Nonono:

    Swirl marks

The kit you linked is not bad, however I don't think they are including the best pads for M105 and M205. You will certainly want the Orange light cutting pads, but you will also need to get some White polishing pads. I use pretty much all larger throw polishers. They are work a lot faster...

2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ - Paint Correction & Coating

Sorry I just noticed that you asked these questions and I did not respond. AmeriCoat is a professional only product, while CQuartz UK is a consumer product. CQUK is a great product, however it can be very finicky to apply. I am actually on the fence with no longer using Americoat unless...

For any of you guys that have been using Hydr02 and have liked it. Carpro has now come out with Hydr02 Foam. I will be putting together a review of the product here soon that I will post up. This product allows you to wash and protect in one step, with no need to follow up with a second...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I was planning on going the show this weekend, however I might not be able to make it now. Someone just contacted me about doing a 50th Ann. Vette for Corvette's at Carlisle so I will be doing that instead :doh2: Might still try and sneak away for a bit at least if I have some time.

2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ - Paint Correction & Coating

Yeah West Coast pricing is a bit more then East Coast pricing. I must also say that this was was the paint that was coated and only one coat. This vehicle also did not receive CQuartz Finest or it likely would have been in the $1500 range to start. Wheels are extra if you want them coated...

2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ - Paint Correction & Coating

This service was 1k. I base my time off $50 an hour. This also includes a paint coating (Americoat) which is an acylic coating providing 2 years off protection. I pretty much only do paint correction work and coatings. Americoat is my afford coating offering and I am also a CQuartz Finest...

2010 Chevy Tahoe LTZ - Paint Correction & Coating

There was no sanding done on this. I had roughly 14-15 hours in the paint between compounding and polishing. Total time from start to finish I probably had roughly 18-19 hours in it between the wash process, paint correction and the coating application and smaller details.

mounting a pressure washer on the wall for vehicle washing

I am going to have to disagree with that statement. As you can clearly see in the description for the foam lance on Detailed Image you can using it with pretty much any pressure washer from 800-3000 psi. Tons of people are using foam lances with cheap $100 units from lowes and home depot...

mounting a pressure washer on the wall for vehicle washing

I am pretty sure I have the Karcher K.3740, which I really like. I previously had a cheap greenworks from Lowes which worked just fine also, but I wanted the Karcher because it can siphon from a water tank I have in my garage for use over the winter.

mounting a pressure washer on the wall for vehicle washing

I don't know about one that you can mount on the wall, but there are certainly plenty of good portable electric units. I have a Karcher that I use for all my detailing work which works great. I am sure you could figure out a way to hang it or just let it sit on the floor.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This is one product that continues to impress me every time I use it. I like using it on glass also, as the water just flows off when it is raining and you really don't need to use your wipers hardly at all. Glad you happy with it though.
