so finally got it all done. replaced the idler and pitman arm myself
paid a local mechanic $500 to install my lower bushing and ball joints. really glad I did after hear how much trouble he had with the bushings
You are correct I spent all day trying to get the pitman arm to release from the drag link and I was unsuccessful so far. Why does it require that much torque.
I plan on replacing my idler and pitman arm and lower control arm bushings.
Any tips on what you have most problem with would be greatly appreciated

So my local Firestone says my bushing need replaced. So I figured I would do it myself.
My Chiltons book says they mine cannot be replaced and that the whole lower control arm has to be replaced. But I cannot find a lower control arm for my Tahoe.

i got under the truck but didnt feel any play in the u-joints. I replaces the brakes and all hardware about 3 months ago. Havent been able to hear the noise since that one night.
So as I was driving into my neighborhood tonight I noticed a clicking noise every time i accelerated or used the brakes. After some inspection it seems as if the noise if coming from the rear. I have a feeling that it may be the U-joint but I am not sure. Any ideas on what this could be or how...
mine is metal leaving the filter then it is flex line as it angles up but the last 24inches are metal where it goes up to the back of the motor...think im going to silicone some rubber tubing onto the sharp edge that rubbed through the line
Thanks for all the input guys but I found the real problem today while installing the new filter.... my fuel line has a hole in it...it is right by the transmission the line had been rubbing the sharp edge of one of the floor panels and cut a hole right in the side of it
So I noticed the smell of gas coming from under the hood couple days ago...and today it started. Having hard starts. Has new spider injectors with new fuel regulator.also has new plugs and new cap and rotor...any ideas what else it could be
Tranny has been rebuilt and the Hoe drives great. I was so use to the Hoe making a loud clunk and jerk when I put it in reverse before the rebuild that now I have to double check to see if I put it in gear.
