idk what it is. But seems to be getting worse and from front left. Took into shop and don’t think they heard it cause they said don’t worry about it and sent me on my way. Well I don’t “not worry about it” I like to stay on top of what...
Random intermittent Popping/clunk noise after some gravel roads.
I drive 2014 Tahoe 173k miles and I went shooting outside of town on some gravel roads. There was some loose gravel with some waves I didn’t see and I hit it kinda fast and was flying over them like a dune buggy. Now I’m hearing...
About a year ago I was getting low oil pressure. Maybe 17-18 when warmed up and idling in park. Changed oil and filter and it went up and I didn’t think of it after that. Now I have taken it on some road trips. I use the AFM disabler as well. I was at a stop light and had my foot on the brake...
Everything was sounding good before my trip from NE South Dakota to the cities. I got my coolant flushed, oil changed and power steering fluid flushed and changed. Also did the engine cleaner flush all at Valvoline. She was running like a top. Drove smooth all the way there and back. No...
Have not don’t anything to radiator system was planning on getting a flush at valvoline. No over heating drives fine. I do smell a toasty smell under the hood sometimes and when close to engine bay. No leaking under car. Truck also has to deal with the harsh cold winter as well
My ford focus will do this too when using heat idling. And even when driving in the focus sometimes to. I’m essentially just cooling the engine further more?
Really not sure what the deal is with these things but it’s like every time I start up there’s a new noise?!
This time it’s something with the belts or the pulley I don’t know I just changed the serpentine belt this previous summer, and I change the idler pulley bc they were making noise. Now...
Took off from a stop and kept hearing a very loud and noticeable scraping noise. Like a rock got stuck or something. I looked at my rotors by just walking around the vehicle and everything looks ok. Any idea what it could be ? Seems to only happen when taking off and not when using brakes
Oil level good, coolant level is maybe an inch at most under the fill line and that’s after a year if not more of this coolant. Not over heating and not stalling or anything. Doesn’t smell electric or like oil either.
Here’s a video of my engine bay. nothing appears out of the ordinary
Quiet grinding noise when I start 2014 Tahoe and let it idle?
Been going good so far. Driving good. But the other morning I started her up and it was cold out so maybe that’s why.
I woke up, went to auto start my truck and when I went outside after about 10 minutes and was near the front end...
I’m reading that it can cause rougher idle and other symptoms in cold weather because it takes longer to vaporize? I’m thinking about switching back to 87 this winter. It’s already below 40 on the regular and it’s gonna get colder until
It hits -40 with windchill this winter
I have a slight pop when turning to the right now… I was told a few months ago my power steering pump is getting weak. Is it getting worse? My steering still feels pretty effortless. But definitely has a slight groan when turning. More noticeable at idle.
Steering feels fine, I can feel little tiny vibrations in the steering when I turn and hear a groan like whine that seems to go with the engine as a I accelerate and or turn the wheel
Video here of me turning
Heard some squeaking while taking a u turn yesterday sounded like an old hose faucet handle being turned.
How can I lube the steering system and the suspension? Is it time consuming? Hard?
2014 Tahoe.
I think I did ok. I drained the oil, installed the new and lubricated filter, added 5 quarts, ran it for a minute ( I heard lifters and stuff for a sec until oil reached everything is that normal) shut it off, checked stick, was on not level surface because I live on a residential street and...
Took it in again to the shop that rode with me and heard the noise and they did there little diagnostic or whatever and still can’t figure out what the noise is… the same text I rode with me claims it’s my steering pump, even though he heard the noise, and it only happens during v4 mode.
My...
2014 Tahoe 167k miles.
I’ve posted one thread about this recently that seems to have gone dead. So I’m making a new one.
Noise I’m having will usually happen from 25-35, mph when i accelerate around those speeds lightly. It seems to only happen in v4 mode and then when it “jerks” into v8 mode...
It was hot out today and I was running errands and the car was hissing near this area when I shit the car off and opened the hood. The coolant gauge reads normal all day no overheating to my knowledge
Usually use e85 so I expect that from e85 but now I’ve been using 91 with no ethanol and I still get 10.9 mpg average. However, my instant economy is around 14-15 mpg on 91 when I’m just driving around town at say, 25mph.
Is this normal? Does it take a while to adjust back to other averages...
In reference to my rain through the sunroof, only issue I’m having is the radio lights not shutting off when the car is off. The light on the radio will not turn off.
Currently have it (the radio unit) drying for a couple hours underneath my AC in my house. Then gonna throw positive terminal...
I recently posted about leaving sunroof open, now my only issue is my thermostat is reading 53°F when it’s actually 64°F and it doesn’t seem to change.
I read that these read temperature of the ground under the car. So maybe the pavement is just colder than the ambient air temp? Or is it broken :/
Left my sunroof open last night and it poured. My airbag light is on, abs light is on, service 4x4 is on, the dash keeps coming on and then will shut off. Like all the gauges. There’s water in the center console cover. I can’t play music on my radio any more. I just financed this and have 5...
