except they redesigned the front body of the truck, adding lots of heft where the battery used to go?

Yeah, no room there. The read kit I pictured is a better spot for my use but I can't find anyone who has actually installed one .

I have looked into the aux battery placement on the current generation, and from what I can tell, it is mounted behind the driver's side panel in the rear cargo area where the subwoofer would normally be. I found some information showing this in the PPV documentation. It appears that the aux battery for PPV applications may be a lithium ion battery that is about half the size of the main battery. I'm having trouble finding the documentation where I saw this though.

Yeah that's where it goes. I can't figure out how big the battery can be. I'm going to put a lithium in, but still searching for documentation. Called my friend at the dealer parts dept and part is available but they couldn't produce any documentation

I suspect the interior trim with the access panel is a police package specific part.

Thanks I'm going to try it. I'll just remove the trim panel when I put the battery on and put it back on when I'm done.
