I am mentally preparing for an audio over haul and when ready, I want to try to fit a small amp in the same place as the stock sub/amp. I am lucky enough to have members on this forum that shared some pics of how it looks under there but I'm still a novice. I would need to have a good ground point to setup amp and not sure what I can use. There is a big metal bracket that sits on top of the stock amp. Any suggestions on where you would ground your amp under the center console? I'll probably get additional ground to the HU from there as well if possible.

FYI, this is probably a quick question that I would bother someone via private message but a great person recommended these things be created on the forum as you never know who else may be interested in these things today or years from now.

Avoid brackets and use the floor after you sand it down to bare metal of course

Technically, the entire body is grounded. A clean (no paint) stud or screw into the floor should ground. Test with a meter.

Thanks, I hear to use one of the screws/posts that were used to mount the stock sub would be good. Looking up youtube videos how to test ground :).

This is one of the mounting holes for stock sub but bottom looks blacker than actual medal. Can I use this or does that black piece need to come off somehow?

Go to harbor frieght, or if you have one, put a meter or test light on it. Test light will be easier, alligator clip on that stud and probe to a 12v power wire, if it lights up you have good ground. The body is grounded so technically that should be fine but test light it to be sure.

Yup, I have a test light. I'll connect to 12v on the amp harness or cigarette lighter? Thanks for the direction.
