Not sure about your state, but in my state your vehicle meets all the Lemon Law qualifications. In my state the dealer would have to provide you a new vehicle or a refund. I think you did the right thing by filing.
While I was at the dealer picking my vehicle up I talked to the service manager and he said that since my vehicle came in they've also had a Sierra come in with the exact same issue and they were just about to finish up the engine replacement on that truck. I asked him about a post mortem on...
Just to report back in on my situation, I got my vehicle back today. What's it been like 10+ weeks? Everything seems to be fine - new engine, all new cooling system, all new hoses and seals, - basically the only thing left from the old engine were the accessories. Haven't put many miles on it...
I'm still waiting for a real answer on my replacement engine. The dealer and my GM case rep told me on Friday that there are none and the wait is indefinite. I called over to the finance department and explained the situation and they agreed to meet with me this week about options including...
I agree with 91RS on this. GMT-800s and GMT-900s aren’t rolling computer networks. Not sure what the heck is wrong with NoYukonYet_1Jeep’s new engine but it’s really uninspiring. Tomorrow I’m past three weeks waiting on ANY answer on my new engine. Im seriously ready to pull the plug on this...
Glad you got it back. Please keep us posted on how it’s working from time to time. I’m on week three and according to GM no closer to a new engine than I was on week one.
I counted more than that just on the Similar Threads suggestions at the bottom of this thread. If you including any GM vehicle using this engine not just Yukons and also include other vehicles of the same platform using other variant engines, the problem is a lot bigger than 3. Again that...
That’s a fair point. And further to your previous point while the LS and LT architectures are a little different they are close enough to be fraternal twins. Regardless, we have an engine architecture here known for its reliability and robustness that has recently seemed to have developed...
You're exactly right. My guess? Pandemic layoffs and quitters created vacancies in the supply chain that were then filled out of necessity by people with no experience and because of the demand, QC corners were cut resulting in mass defects. I think 50% of anything made during the pandemic is...
Just circling back for an update here: I heard from the dealer today now that they've had my Yukon for 2 weeks exactly. It has TWO spun bearings. There's no engines in stock so they want to rebuild it. I told them I'm not having a rebuilt engine in a new vehicle - I didn't pay for that...
I used to own a body shop and I know a bunch of people in the industry. I have a friend who is a master tech and this is what he told me. I asked him what he thought about a driveline swap and he said with a helper he could swap a driveline in two days and it would be “no problem”. He said...
