    Whew! I noticed this on a long drive back in October. My volts dropped way down. I was out in the woods, limited cell coverage and was worried about it all weekend. I had just put a new battery in prior to the trip and was thinking I was going to be screwed royally!

    I used one of my holes for an antenna for my dual band 2m. Used the furthest to the rear (I know, I know, terrible ground plane!) but it matches my agencies antenna locations. The CDMA cell booster is going to use another hole, whenever I decide to pull the trigger on that.

    What did you do to your NNBS SSV/PPV today?

    Finally got around to installing my ham radio into the new rig. Had the antenna installed (thank god for pre-drilled roof holes!). Used a Ram mount to mount to the seat frame of the passenger seat. Much nicer than mounting it to the dash again I think.

    Thanks for the reply. I'll give that a shot, as well as spraying the internals with white lithium lubricant to see if that makes any difference. I guess worst case scenario, I take to our fleet guys and see if they have any ideas.
