Yup. Despite decades of research that prove no difference in accident rates between states that have them and states that don’t. It’s a total racket.

I've lived 2 states with them and one without but nothing like that. one was just a general drive thru the facility. honk the horn, hit the lights and wipers. give us money and be on your way.

here it's a shop, but since I run anything tagged from work thru there. they don't even look at my stuff. 7$ and punch the vin in. but not even when they do a full test, it's just a walk around and hit the brakes to make sure they stop kinda thing.

the only annoying thing is it comes up randomly from the date you tagged it. so if feels like I always got something that's over do. I liked it better on your birthday. hurts the wallet more but at least it's one and done.

Shop says that the groaning is coming from the steering rack itself. It's a reman that's less than 2 years old. Looks like Imma have to pony up for a new build one. They're about $450 on RA. Interestingly, they didn't have any new build racks when I bought the reman, so that's a plus.

thats odd usually its the pump that gets noisy, I would try a flush and some treatment first if it is not leaking just to see if it stops the noise. before slapping down $450

Thanks Wes. I’ll give it a try!
I would, for the price difference, leaks are a different issue but since yours is only 2yrs old maybe a little lube will help
I flush mine out every spring with fresh fluid already have a couple quarts sitting here I ordered off of amazon and some left over from the last flush.
it takes about 3quarts to get it all nice and clear again. 4 if it has never been done

My FIL is a retired slope worker out in Prudhoe Bay....Tells stories of windchills in the -70s for days on end. They could never turn off any of the vehicles or equipment..Will take F that for $100 Alex!!
I worked a week in Ft McMurray Alberta one winter. The temp with the wind chill was -40°. We had to work outside in shifts of 10 minutes to get our work done.
