I just purchased a set of dl3 mirrors for my 08 yukon. I know i need to replace the driver side switch to the unit with the power fold button on it but do i also need to replace the passenger side window switch as well? Also how do i go about programming the mirrors to fold? Ive heard it cant be done in a vehicle that didnt already come with the dl3 option. Meaning the switches have to re programmed in a truck with the dl3 option on it and then install the switches back into my truck. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I think your passenger side switch is fine, and they should work without reprogramming. But, if they don't, then I guess your only option is to take it by the dealer!

I am getting ready to do this as well. From what I understand you only need the mirrors and the Driver switch with the power fold buttons. I am getting a switch that was removed from a truck with the DL3's already so am hoping not to have to re-program as that is where the concern and issues arise. Some dealers won't or are hesitant to do the re-program.

Let us know how your turns out and what you did exactly. Was it a pain removing everything for the install?

Im not shure if you even need to remove the door panel ill have to look at my truck! But removing the switch assy is very easy it just pries upfrom the inside of the handhole i guess you would call it! Its gonna feel like its going to break but youll be fine! My mirrors actually just came in today and theyre prepped ready for paint in the morning! I do business with a shop here in town who has a tech 2 and they actually reprogrammed my truck when i installed a factory nav. Only charged me 35 bucks to do it. I did though have to buy a new switch and bezel so im going to need to get mine reprogrammed the switch will be here tomarrow

i got the switch through my local dealer for ~85 bucks and the bezel was ~20 bucks or so!

Cool, thanks. On the mirror installation I heard two different things. One person said you DO NOT have to remove the door panel and then someone else said you DO have to remove it. Which of these is correct?

You dont have to remove the panel if your just changing the switch. But if your changing the mirrors then you do have to remove the panel because the wiring from the mirrors is held onto the inside of the door by 3-4 stubborn ass clips
